Did you have an excellent shopping experience at
Zylstra Harley-Davidson and want to let us know about it?


Just bought a new Dyna Super Glide Custom. Dealt with Nick Crear who was enthusiastic and knowledgeable from the first discussion. Great guy to deal with (I know he wanted the sale, but he did not give me any pressure or BS!). Nick coordinated test drives over 2 weekends based on my shortlist: 1200 Sportster, Dyna Low Rider and Dyna Super Glide Custom. I know he would have arranged more bikes if asked. He lined up Alex (Service) to take me over the test routes. Alex was great to ride with, and after the tests answered all my questions. All these inputs helped me make a decision - I'd never ridden a Harley & last time I rode regularly was ealry 70s on a Triumph Bonneville 650 when I was in the service. Based on my own research and Nick's knowledgeable answers to all my questions (I would call him out of the blue whenever a thought occurred to me), I zeroed in on the Custom. I also liked the blue/pewter colors of the only Custom in stock and after a 14 mile test run, decided it had my name on it. I also want to commend Shannon Kloch in the clothing area. Shannon kitted me out with just about everything, including FXRG gear. She really knows her stuff and was a pleasure to deal with especialy since it was Fathers Day weekend and there were a lot of folk in the department taking advantage of the discounts. The sales process was thorough, everything was clealry explained (priority service program, extended warranties etc). It was good to be introduced to Parts and Service department heads since for sure I will be dealing with them. I found the Zylstra team professional, enthusiastic and very well informed and look forward to dealing with them in the months/years ahead. And ringing the bell was a hoot - think I was the 6 or 7th that day. Tim Welch

This was my first purchase of a brand new Harley Davidson. I had been riding a 1994 Dyna Low Rider for about 8 years. It ran and looked great but at 260 pounds, I felt too big for it. My buddy had recently purchased a 2009 Road Glide at another dealership. He brought it by my house and asked me to take it out for a spin. After that, I really felt I was too big for my Dyna. He suggested I check out the bikes at the dealership where he bought his. I said I was going to check out the dealership in St. Charles first. I went over on a Thursday night just to take a look. I was greeted by a salesman named Tom. He was very friendly and helpful. I did not feel pressured to make a decision at all. I looked at the Road Glides and the Road Kings on the floor. I then discovered the Road King was the bike for me. I liked everything about it. I planned on trading in the Dyna, so I told Tom I would bring it by on Saturday. Saturday came and I came back with my Dyna. I still was not certain I would be making a purchase. I even brought my buddy along. Tom made me an offer which was acceptable to me and the rest is history. They have a custom at Zylstra's where you get to ring the big bell when your purchase is finalized. I signed all the papers and walked out on the balcony where the bell is located. You can see practically everyone in the building from the balcony. When I ran it, everyone stopped what they were doing, looked up at me, and started cheering and applauding. My husband and I had nothing to do last Saturday. So we thought lets ride over to Zylstra's pig roast. My husband has been riding a Victoy for 12 years and I ride a Fat Boy HD. We were not looking to buy just wondering around admiring the large selection of bikes when a certain Black and White bike caught my eye. I wanted to know more so I flagged down the first sales person. We got lucky because we got Jake Smith. Jake started talking to us about what we were looking for etc...We said we wern't looking for anything, but that bike caught my eye. Before we knew it we were introduced to Nick Crear and took a test ride with Alex P. My husband tested out a Road Glide and I tested the Black and White Delux. Alex took us on an amazing ride, Thanks Alex. When we returned Jake and Nick had all the paper work done with trade in. They made us such an amazing deal we would have been stupid NOT to do it! How ever I felt selfish. I had a great bike and my husband will be celebrating his 50th birthday this year so we just rode away with Pete on his beautiful Road Glide. The process was so easy, Brad Schroder was outstanding on the final paper work. And can I say how much fun the poker run was....OMG...it was a blast. THANKS Well, my story dosen't stop there....After thinking about my bike and the outstanding trade in Jake made with us we decided to check out the Road King for me. Once again Jake and Nick worked out all the details and this past Saturday I rode off with my 2009 Road King. Sense it is a chick bike we are calling it my "ROAD QUEEN" I had already bonded with the beautiful and kind girls in clothing Sue Hott, Tricia Rains and Shannon Bell so when we came back buying my bike they were just as excited as I was....It was like we were all sisters, laughing, joking and shopping... A great time was had by all and we feel like we have made not just a professional relationship, but a friendship as well.... A lot of joking and laughing I have never had so much fun spending money!!!!!!!!!! I can't thank Jake, Nick, Brad, Sue, Tricia and Shannon enough you all are very special people. I want to give Sue Hott special thanks for changing my mind on Zylstra. When you first opened my husband and I went to your grand opening. We were no impressed and after I was treated so poorly in the clothing dept. we vowed never to return. Last year just because it was conveinant and I didn't have the time to go to another dealer for a gift I went to Zelstra. Sue Hott waited on me. Sue made my expierence so delighful I told her about my first opinon of the dealership and because of Sue I would return and so I have and now proud owner of our two 2009 Harley's...THANKS SUE and remember "We are still HOT it just comes in flashes...LOL... My husband and I purchased our bikes at Zylstra HD because of Jake Smith, sales manager. He won our business by giving us a great deal.We purchased two Street Glides. Jake let me ride a Street Glide and let me have the time I needed in making my final decision. I now have over 1700 miles on my FLHX. The customer service was exceptional while Jake made our purchase a pleasant experience. His product knowledge, commitment and loyalty to Zylstra and Harley Davidson were apparent. Tim and I have already recommended Jake to our friends and family. Jake Smith is truly an asset the Zylstra HD.Thank you Jake!... Dan Lang who is the parts manager assisted us in making our bikes our own. We discussed all the options then made our final choices. Dan was professional, knowledgeable and an asset to Zylstra HD... Dan and Ron in service as well as the team were prompt, efficient and skilled at installing our parts. Dan and the guys did it all with a smile! :) ... And then there are the Zylstra beauties Shannon, Tricia and Sue in motor clothes..WOW!! These girls know how to work it. They are always wearing the current HD fashions which inspire me to purchase. They are very knowledgeable of their inventory, protective riding gear included. If they don't have what your looking for they will get for you. My wife was actually joking when she asked if you would take my 73 Eldo Convertible in trade along with the sportster. When Tom Ziemer said yes, we started making plans to drive up to see you. I have to say the experience we had at your dealership was the most fun I ever had purchasing a vehicle. To put it another way the most fun I ever had spending 20,000.oo in round numbers. Some pple say the devil is in the details, and the inside the store poker run was a great way to introduce all your departments, and last but not least (well ok maybe least) you have real toilet paper in the restrooms. I assure (no pun) that anyone I encounter who is shopping for a new bike will be told you guys are the place to end. I have always wanted a Harley. However, do to circumstances and life's obligations I was unable to fulfill my dream. Until now. This year I made a decision to do it. To purchase a piece of American heritage. As soon as I entered Zylstra Harley Davidson I knew it was going to be a great experience. And it was. From beginning to end. My salesperson and motorcycle guru Nick Crear guided me through the entire process with patience and encouragement. The Rider's Edge Class under the tutelage of Joe D was invaluable. "Keep you head up" and "SEE". Take this class. I took my Road King home last night. I have a grand total of 10 miles under my belt. I can't wait to get off work. TGIF.
